Google Fiber for Small Business Acceptable Use Policy
Use of Google Fiber for Small Business and related services (Services) is subject to the following Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Your failure to comply with the AUP may result in suspension and/or termination of the Services. Terms used but not defined in this AUP will have their meaning as set forth in our Terms of Service. In addition to complying with our Terms of Service, you agree not to use or allow third parties (including end users) to use the Services provided to you for any of the following purposes:- To use any Google Fiber equipment for anything other than its intended purpose.
- To violate or encourage the violation of the legal rights of others (for example, this may include allowing end users to infringe or misappropriate the intellectual property rights of others in violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act).
- To engage in, promote or encourage illegal activity.
- For any unlawful, invasive, infringing, defamatory, or fraudulent purpose.
- To intentionally distribute viruses, worms, Trojan horses, corrupted files, hoaxes, or other items of a destructive or deceptive nature.
- To generate or facilitate sending unsolicited commercial email (e.g. spam) via the Services, or to collect responses from such unsolicited commercial email.
- To collect email addresses or other user information without prior consent.
- To make the Services available to anyone outside the premises to which the Services are delivered. This limitation does not prohibit you from offering Internet service to your customers and other authorized users on your premises (for example, via Wi-Fi), subject to this AUP and our Terms of Service.
- To resell the Services, either directly or indirectly. This prohibition on resale includes providing the Services in areas of your premises that your customers rent or lease for a fee, such as hotel guest rooms, conference spaces, patient rooms, residence halls, shared office spaces, etc. If your business is a hotel, for example, you can use the Services to provide Internet access in your public or common areas such as your lobby, restaurant, lounge, fitness center, or pool deck, but not in guest rooms or conference rooms.
- To create substitute or related services through the use of or access to the Services (for example, to use the Services to provide web hosting services to third parties).
- To interfere with the use of the Services, or the equipment used to provide the Services, by customers or other authorized users.
- To alter, disable, interfere with, reverse engineer, or circumvent any aspect of the Services, including but not limited to security features of the Services.
- To test or reverse-engineer the Services in order to find limitations or vulnerabilities.
- To use the Services in a manner that may disrupt or harm other computer networking or telecommunications services to any user, host or network, such as by participating in a denial-of-service attack.
Do not send or facilitate the transmission of spam, large numbers of commercial messages, or automated messages. Such activity includes, but is not limited to:
- sending commercial or promotional messages to a large number of users, or sending messages in bulk;
- sending messages via an automated process, such as a script;
- sending unwanted or mass solicitation;
- placing calls in violation of laws governing unsolicited marketing (e.g., "do-not-call laws"), telemarketing, automated dialing, and prerecorded or artificial voice calls;
- data mining any web property to find phone numbers;
- selling, exchanging, or distributing to a third party the phone numbers of any person without such person’s consent to such disclosure;
- inflating call traffic (e.g., traffic pumping, international revenue share fraud).
Do not use the GFiber Phone Service to threaten, bully, or harass.Impersonation
Do not impersonate another person or entity, including through the manipulation of caller identification information.Malicious Products
Do not use GFiber Phone Services in a way that harms, disrupts, or interferes with the operation of the networks, servers, or infrastructure of Google Fiber or others.System Interference and Abuse
Do not abuse the GFiber Phone Service, and do not interfere with other GFiber Phone Service users’ enjoyment of the GFiber Phone Service, including by engaging in any of the prohibited practices described above. In addition, do not forward calls to phone numbers that aren’t your own or under your control, or create multiple user accounts or create user accounts by automated means or under false or fraudulent pretenses.
