Core 1 Gig is designed for people who use the internet for the everyday — like browsing and streaming — in an apartment or smaller home. Core 1 Gig serves up a premium experience for internet users who value no-fuss, reliable Wi-Fi that they can “set and forget”.
If you’re looking to do more with your internet, Home 3 Gig or Edge 8 Gig might be a better fit.
What is the price of Core 1 Gig?
Core 1 Gig is $70, the same price as our original 1 Gig launch back in 2012.
What are the benefits?
- Symmetrical 1 gig speeds: that means 1 gig upload and download speeds. (upload speed is the rate that online data is transferred from your Router to the Internet, while download speed refers to the rate that digital data is transferred from the Internet to your Router)
- A Multi-Gig Wi-Fi 6E Router and a Wi-Fi 6E Mesh Extender

Speed specifics
You get symmetrical download and upload speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second with Core 1 Gig. Whether you’re using a wired or wireless connection, you’ll be able to enjoy the maximum speed of your internet with the GFiber Multi-Gig Wi-Fi 6E Router, which is included when you purchase Core 1 Gig. Hardware specifics
A Multi-Gig Wi-Fi 6E Router is included in your plan and a Wi-Fi 6E Mesh Extender is available in your new plan based on your home layout and Wi-Fi needs. You can purchase more extenders by logging in to your account or by contacting us.
You can also use your own compatible multi-gig router instead of the one provided by GFiber.
Information for existing GFiber customers
Switching to Home 3 Gig or Edge 8 Gig can help you get more out of your home internet, with additional features designed for your online lifestyle.
If you’d like to upgrade to Home 3 Gig or Edge 8 Gig, log in to your account at fiber.google.com and select Manage plan on the Home screen. You can also download the GFiber app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and follow these instructions about how to change your product in the app. To make the switch to Core 1 Gig from 1 Gig, you can contact GFiber Customer Care.
If you decide to upgrade to Home 3 Gig or Edge 8 Gig, you cannot go back to your original plan (1 Gig, 2 Gig, 5 Gig, or 8 Gig). If you are unsatisfied for any reason, give us a call and we’ll help you find the best fit for your household. You can also manage your products directly from your account or the GFiber app.
